The Chicago Sun-Times ran an interesting article on Barry Greenstein, the poker pro who won the recent World Poker Open. It's written by a reporter who grew up with Greenstein. It has a fair bit more detail than your typical newspaper player profile, including a few interesting quotes and tidbits from his life:
Tournament poker, on the other hand, has a cleaner image, like tournament golf. You don't have to hide anything.Link"I used to give money to charity, but I had to lie about how I made it," Barry said. "I didn't want people to know I was a professional gambler. It was like, 'Whose life did you wreck so you could help us?' So I said I was an investor."

I remember Jack London once said everything positive has a negative side; everything negative has positive side. It is also interesting to see different viewpoints & learn useful things in the discussion.
