gambling "play your cards right - ray truelove did"

For those of you who read the print edition of Card Player magazine, you no doubt have seen those full-page ads about the guy who paid for his $26,000 gastric bypass surgery through poker winnings. In what may be the first ever newspaper article about a Card Player ad, apparently that man - Ray Truelove - just won a fight with the county's insurance plan, getting them to cover the procedure.

The Center for Surgical Treatment of Obesity advertisement, which appeared in the magazine's July edition, touted the fact that Truelove used poker winnings to pay for his gastric bypass surgery.

But the statement will no longer be true. Last week, county commissioners voted to reimburse Truelove for the $26,000 procedure.

Link I wonder if they'll change the ads.
