 | hard rock casino coming to biloxi |
The Mississippi Gaming Commission approved development of a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi. I've never been to Biloxi; apparently the poker is pretty good down there (although I doubt Hard Rock will be adding a poker room). Link
I won't waste my time coming to Biloxi, or the MS Gulf Coast before the Hard Rock gets built. The Beaches are terrible, the people are too. And If you don't plan on goin to one of the crap filled casinos, there is nothing else to do. The Hard Rock is doing everyone around MS a huge favor. It will make it a little better. If you want a good gaming experince in MS, go to Tunica, thats a great place. I have been to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, New Orleans, Biloxi and Tunica was my second favorite place behind Las Vegas. Biloxi being my least favorite.

I have been to Vegas and Tunica, as well as many other gaming areas in the US and the Bahamas. They are all different. Different strokes for different folks. Some people like the intense action and lights of Vegas and some prefer the smaller casinos in other parts of the country. Just remember, we all have opinions, and like different things.
To comment on our beaches.... they are very nice and clean. The water is murky and brown, but that is because of the barrier islands off the coast of Mississippi. The water is just muddy, not dirty. Tourists would not know this unless they asked someone from the area.
As a final comment on the people of the Biloxi area... when I first started in gaming, many of the people in Casino managment did not like the area because they said it was slow (the local people and things to do.) After a few months, they all said they loved it. I just takes time to get used to the difference of how things work in Mississippi as compared to Vegas or Atlantic City. But let me make it clear that I think Biloxi has the best people in the world...just take the time to get to know us.

The only thing I think they should do is improve in the customers service area, the corp. end could consider bringing up the pay scale a little. Everyone get what they pay for.

Tunica is cheap and in the middle of nothing. If you just want to lock yourself in a casino Tunica is fine, if you want a life go to Biloxi.

Just recently 3 new nightclubs opened and another casino is already slated to break ground.
I love Biloxi, just wish they have more direct flights from Orlando.

They are laid back and the people, for the most part, are very friendly. This includes workers and locals who play there. We get great comps and go every few months from Florida where we live. For my money, Biloxi is the place to go.

Talk about a place that if you don't gamble there is nothing to do. At least Biloxi has the coastline and a casino strip. In Tunica there are nothing but cotton fields.

For non-gamblers there is the beach & casino shows/concerts.
Also, Beau Rivage is my "home" casino and it tops all but a few strip casinos in Vegas!
my husband and i go to biloxi twice a year for the last 5 years you get what you go for we enjoy it so much we keep going back. its very laid back everyone is very nice and welcomes us . most important the beer is always cold
