Excellence in
Pubs |
I like pubs. I'm talking about vaguely English/Irish-style bars where you can hang out, talk and have a few beers.
Opal Divine's is a good place for weeknight hanging out. The service is sometimes slow and the bars can get crowded for ordering. Good outdoor seating. Good scotch selection. Golden Tee 2004, pool, megatouch games, jukebox.
I am a big fan of pub quizzes and Riley's does a pretty decent one on Wednesdays at 8pm. Service is very good, as is the food. Gets a bit noisy sometimes. Pricey.
I like the Dog and Duck for weekend afternoons. Really good atmosphere, although the chairs are a bit uncomfortable. Good tap selection. Fish and chips are pretty good.
This has become my favorite local to hang out at. Two dart boards, a pool table, and a great beer selection (no liquor though). The waitresses are always around.
A great little pub which is often pretty packed. They run some decent specials, and their pizza is not too bad. No diversions.
Fado is a good place but gets way too packed on weekend nights. The outdoor seating is nice on sunny days. Service is usually pretty slow.
How is their selection of beer, as well as non-beer drinks? Relative weight: 25
I like pubs to be not too loud, with a nice homey atmosphere. Relative weight: 30
How is the pub food? Relative weight: 20
Do the bartenders do a good job? Does it take forever to get a beer? Relative weight: 15
I like darts, pub quizzes, pool, golden tee and megatouch (aka "the naked lady game"). Relative weight: 10
