If I had to eat only one type of food for the rest of my life, it would be sushi.
Musashino is the best Austin has to offer. It's also one of the most consistent restaurants I've ever been to. Great date place. With the tech bubble burst, it's not nearly as crowded as it used to get but there's still a wait on weekends. Highlights: gyu tataki, edamame, seared salmon sushi, hamachi, ebi, tokujo.
Decent sushi. The rolls are not quite as tight as some other places. Really cool interior, and great selection of non-sushi appetizers.
Sushi Sake grew on me big time. The first couple times I went there (right after it opened) the fish was just not good. Even now, I find the food to be inconsistent at times. I tend to like their rolls better than their nigiri. Highlights: volcano roll, sawagani, spicy susan roll, toro, bento boxes.
Sake on Sixth is a very good downtown option. Excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, and very decent sushi. I recommend their rolls, especially the capitol roll, the pecan street roll and the austin roll. Also, they have very decent karaoke on wednesdays!
